Elizabeth Ginns Britten, Associate
Editor
Liz is the newest addition
to the PMY team, coming to us as an Associate Editor with over
24 years experience in boating, and a degree in English Literature from Skidmore
College in Saratoga Springs, NY.
Liz literally grew up on boats,
spending entire summers living on them with her family, and taking many boating
vacations to places like Marthas Vineyard and Nantucket, small islands
off the coast of Massachusetts, as well as places like Montauk, Sag Harbor,
and Shelter Island to name a few.
In addition, Liz is an avid
angler, and spends a great deal of her time during the summer fishing the rips
for striped bass at Great Round Shoal, close to Monomoy and Nantucket Islands.
Her earliest angling memories are flounder fishing in the Boston Harbor, though
shes been Marlin fishing in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico and has fished for
sailfish in Puerto Vallarta. In addition, shes caught mahi-mahi in Hawaii,
blue runner jacks and barracuda in St. Maartin, and much more!
Her family has owned a variety
of boats ranging from smaller boats like Boston Whalers and Aquasports, to larger
ones like Egg Harbor, Bertram, Hatteras, Viking, and, most recently, a Cabo.
At eight-years-old, she was the youngest member of her USCG Auxiliary class.
Today, Liz is looking into earning her captains license, is looking forward
to being a PMY boat tester, and is enjoying writing for the number
one power boating magazine out there!
