Charter Options

It seems folks haven’t had much success with bareboat and crewed charter operations around Chattanooga—pretty much everybody who’s opened up shop has closed down just as quickly. We agree with the locals who say they hope some options will materialize this spring, when the city has a grand coming out with its newly revitalized waterfront. Your best bet is to wait until after the winter holidays, then check in with the local Chamber of Commerce (423-756-2121, www.chattanooga-chamber.com) to see what new boats might be available.

Charter aside, if you’re one of those cruisers looking for an excuse to set off on a Great Loop cruise of the eastern United States—whether south from Chicago or north from the Gulf of Mexico—Chattanooga and its nearly completed waterfront restoration is it.
