Growing
up on Long Island, Eileen has been surrounded by boats her whole life. Her summers
were spent on the waters around Fire Island and, later, on the lakes of the Adirondacks.
The time spent on her familys runabout at their vacation home on Saranac
Lake solidified her love of boats. As did the beautifully restored wooden boats
popular to that area.
Upon graduating from Fordham
University with a degree in Media Studies, Eileen joined the staff of Computer
Telephony magazine for a brief stint as an editorial assistant. Quickly
moving her way up through the ranks, she became managing editor of CT and, shortly
thereafter, of Teleconnect magazine. But she jumped when Power &
Motoryacht came calling in January of 2003.
At Voyaging, Eileen
organizes issues, keeps schedules, and oversees production. She writes for Voyaging
and PMY when time permits and hopes to spend more time on the docks this
year. She attended boating school last year and is looking forward to getting
behind the controls of some big boats.
